Who I am
Hi! I’m Amina Hinda Hashi, a Communications Specialist, freelance journalist, and passionate photographer/videographer based in East Africa. I currently work at a humanitarian organization, where I lead strategic communications efforts, helping to tell powerful stories that drive impact and change.
Beyond my professional role, I’ve pursued my passion for photography and storytelling through freelance journalism and private consulting. Whether I’m documenting community resilience or covering significant events, my work is rooted in a commitment to capturing the authentic experiences of those I meet. I believe in the power of words and images to bridge gaps and connect people across cultures and borders.
My photography style is rooted in authenticity, focusing on the beauty of everyday life and the extraordinary stories hidden in ordinary moments. As a freelance journalist, I’ve covered stories of human resilience, cultural celebrations, and socio-political issues.
Some of my work has been featured on The BBC, ReliefWeb, The New Humanitarian, and I’m constantly looking for new ways to expand my creative horizons.
I invite you to explore my portfolio and reach out if you’d like to see or learn more about my work. Perhaps we can create something meaningful together!
